Concept: Scenic Portrait Comments: Do you ever work with gazebos? Very popular among the wedding couples. Very popular among the photographers who can't create. A gazebo is a great prop. Just "plop" your couple inside and..."Wa La" !! You have created art. Maybe not. I never place my couples inside a gazebo, or should I say standing in the center of the gazebo looking at me or each other, or whatever. I use the gazebo as a "secondary object" in the composition. It's there, but it's not the picture. Get the picture!!! Place the gazebo off to the side in your composition, have it in the background. Don't make it the center of attention. I had all the landscaping to "deal" with. While the average consumer thinks "landscaping and flowers" are needed to create nice images, I find them an annoyance. I was able to pace that red bush in the lower left corner and it created what we call a "foreground" subject. Whenever I work in a new catering facility, I try and look at the
images that were created by other photographers that have been there before me. I
get an idea of what potential the location has and then I proceed to make sure my images
don't look like theirs. |
